2 x Radio Comms Tech - Mining Services Sector - Get training!

  • Get into the mining sector with a global niche player
  • Full product training provided if you have the right Radio/Networks skills
  • Relocate to Mt. Isa OR Mackay (or FIFO considered)

The Australian mining boom continues unabated - have you been searching for a way to use your 2-way radio and/or wireless networks experience to get into this highly lucrative and recession-proof industry?

This organisation has been steadily growing for years - with projects and services successfully delivered on every continent, Queensland has been designated for even further growth and development.

Their products are key to the successful and safe operation of above and underground mines around the world with all the major mining companies - the future certainly looks bright.

As there is so much training on offer (including trips to the United States), these roles will be based residentially in Mackay for the first 18 months - 2 years so you can properly learn the products, mine site operations and get deep into the products and technology. If you are currently in a role which is not giving you enough progression or is not moving fast enough for you, then this may be a phone you need to make today.

In terms of previous experience and required skill-level, it is expected that you have demonstrated talent around the installation and maintenance of 2-way radio (VHF / UHF / HF) with products from companies such as Tait, Motorola etc. Also, any exposure to Cisco routing / switching, VoIP and wireless technologies etc in a customer-facing context will ensure you are ideally suited to these key positions. Certification such as CCNA Wireless or even CCIE Wireless are particularly well regarded.

The role will see you working on-site both above and underground to implement and support a range of infrastructure network solutions such as through-the-earth wireless, wired LAN, voice and other mine specific products. The role will be as varied as it will be interesting.

The career path for these positions can take you into Pre-Sales Solution Architecture, Technical Project Management or people management and not just in Australia - as your product experience develops, you will be able to look at travelling the world and working in new exotic locations.

So, you have career progression, training, great salary and a chance to move into the most resilient industry in Australia for the next few decades.
