The Opportunity
 
The Energy Major Projects Group (EMPG) has been established to develop Rio Tinto's capability to execute a portfolio of major projects. Projects vary in scope and capital spend with a focus on new mine development and significant mine extensions.
 
Reporting to the HSE Manager of Projects, you will provide support and assistance to leaders, employees and contractors in the interpretation and application of HSE policies, standards and procedures.  As the successful candidate you will demonstrate previous experience in the mining or construction industry, preferably at a senior level with site based experience. Working closely with Brisbane and site based leaders; you will be responsible for supporting a broad range of HSE functions across multiple projects.
 
The Person
 
We are seeking expressions of interest from established HSE professionals with exposure in a similar role. You will be able to demonstrate a strong track-record in building positive relationships with leaders, along with the ability to confidently coach and influence stakeholders. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent time management. Tertiary qualifications in HSE or a related field are essential. You will display exceptional communication and negotiation skills, together with strong problem solving ability. Experience with Training & Assessing will also be highly regarded. Mobility is essential.
